Do the seasons always pass this quickly? The time flying by so quickly is just draining this old man's energy. I'm not sure if I can keep up.

It's interesting to think that we've just reached the tenth month of the year and the season is still quite warm. I can't say I'm used to such heated weather, but I imagine it could be far worse. I do wonder how the winter will fare in such a town. Perhaps I'll actually take on that gym badge challenge. How difficult would one say those are?

Ah, another brief inquiry, if I may. Was Luke fon Fabre who demolished the lighthouse ever turned into the authorities, or did the young delinquent manage to escape? [That's his way of checking up on him.]

I suppose the difficulty of any gym comes down to type advantage, as well as the level of your team. What's your current location?

I'm currently in Goldenrod. The voyage to this city wasn't as dangerous as I had first thought, but perhaps the gyms hold more of a challenge.

Mm, they tend to be. I don't know what Goldenrod's gym is like, however. Though if you sit in front of the gym and catch the victors as they leave, they tend to be forthcoming in their exuberance.

The duration of the seasons seems to be quite normal to me, three months each. Were seasons longer in the place you come from?

And on the badge challenge... With appropriate pokémon levels or taking care of the type advantages, it's quite the easy task.

Normal to some, more bizarre to others. The seasons on my planet were longer, but that's most likely attributed to the fact that our years were longer as well.

That explains it. The years in my home world were the same length as the ones here, so I don't notice the difference as much.

I have to say, you don't look much like an old man, sir. [It's a small tease, but she means it.] The weather does seem warmer than it would be from home, but it's not the desert or a place so far north it always seems to be snowing, so I'm not all that picky.

The arrest warrant just disappeared? How disappointing. [Mostly because he was hoping Luke would be at the mercy of the cops for a while.] Unfortunately so.

It is surprising enough to take note, and you weren't complaining at all! [Smiles at the laugh, but she lets out a puffed sort of sigh, the smile managing to remain.] Yes, though I'm not really sure why. I did see him outside of Goldenrod last though, but he encountered something with antlers and.. well, for a while, he seemed very out of it.

I'll admit, I'm not completely certain about what the winters will be like. As you said, it's rather warm for this season, but that doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility that it will be cold later. I can only hope that it isn't; I can only imagine that traveling on the routes in the cold is an absolute nightmare.

As for your other question... I've only fought one gym leader so far, admittedly, but he wasn't much of a challenge at all. I've been told that it's more entertaining if you put limits on yourself during the battles and that they do get harder, but from what I've seen they're not particularly inspiring.

That does sound rather abysmal, yes. It's be quite an inconvenience if the grounds were frozen, as many might catch cold in that sort of weather.

Limits on yourself during the battles... A self-challenge. I may try this. Has anyone discovered what these badges are worth?

...if that's the case, I may simply have to stay in a town for the entire winter. I've been given the impression that there's no way I'd actually die, but I don't want to deal with that sort of unpleasantness.

They allow your Pokemon to do things that they should be able to do to begin with, but can't for whatever reason-for example, allowing you to ride flying Pokemon.

I've heard that Violet's gym grants flying Pokemon the skill to carry their trainers through the sky. It seems a challenge worth pursuing.

The skill of carrying a trainer while flying... I'm honestly surprised that's not an inherent talent. But you are correct; this is certainly a challenge that piques my curiosity.

Do you plan on embarking on this adventure as well?

Unless they're needed for convenience, like Violet's...I don't have any particular interest in the gyms, myself. I won't avoid them if my companions wish to take on the challenge - and I suspect some of them would - but combat in any form has never really been my diversion of choice.

[It comes off deadly (...hah) serious, but whether he actually means it or not is another thing entirely. One thing for sure, winter isn't quite as nice in Crow's experience.]

Gym battles ain't difficult if you keep type advantages in mind and have some high-level Pokémon on your team! I'd say they get easier the further you go, y'know?
